Description:

Norman Blake has been described as "the premiere roots musician of our generation." Don't miss the premiere of one-hour documentary, Green Light on the Southern: The Life and Times of Norman Blake, by Fred Landry and Nature Films about this Chattanooga native's life and music, from the early days up to Blake's trip to the Grammy Awards for "O Brother Where Art Thou." In addition to extensive interviews and some live "pickin" music with Blake, hear from some of the most influential and talented musicians in North America, including Sam Bush, John Hartford, Michelle Shocked, Fletcher Bright and many more. This program documents a true American icon and paints a portrait of a man whose life, like his music, has been and continues to be made on his own terms.

To purchase tickets in advance, call the AEC at (423) 267-1218 or order online at artsedcouncil.org.
